Carolina Chevelle Association 14th Annual Show

Frequently Asked Questions

Q; Will I be able to tour the Hendrick Heritage Center while attending the show?

A; This year we are able to offer a guided tour through the Hendrick Heritage Center which contains the private car collection of Rick Hendrick. This collection is not open to the public and will require a $25 donation to the Hendrick Marrow Program for each pass. There will only be a total of 100 passes sold. This opportunity is only available to paid registrants of the CCA show and is limited to a maximum of two passes for each Chevelle registered. The minimum age for these tours is twelve years old. Any minor under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. This offer is on a first come-first serve basis. The tour passes may be purchased during your online registration or through a mail in show flyer or website printout. If you elect to mail your registration in, any tour passes purchased may become invalid if the 100 person maximum pass limit is reached while your registration is in transit. In that event, your tour purchase funds would be refunded. Once your registration is received by the CCA you will receive an email verification. We encourage everyone to print this verification and bring it with you to the show. Upon your arrival at HMS on the show date you would receive your tour pass or passes at the CCA registration desk and be offered a choice of several tour times during the day. The tours will be handled by HMS and are limited to 25 persons at a time.

Q; What will be available for me to see during the show at Hendrick Motorsports (HMS)?

A; The Hendrick Museum (NASCAR) and Team Store will be open during our show hours..

Q; Will I be able to park my car trailer at HMS?

A; Yes, there will be ample trailer parking near the engine shop.

Q; Will I be able to unload my Chevelle from the trailer within the show field so I don’t have to drive it?

A; No, its only a distance of about 200 yards from the trailer parking to the show field so no cars will be unloaded on the show field.

Q; How will the cars be judged and how many awards will be given in each class?

A; We will use participant judging and an award for Top 3 in each class will be given. For a list of the classes just look at the show flyer on the carolinachevelle.com website.

Q; How do I know whether my Chevelle is stock or modified?

A; We will allow three minor modifications from stock to remain in the stock class. This does not include safety items such as radial tires, disc brakes (as on a model where it was never offered), shoulder belts or radios for example. Modifications that are not considered safety related or minor would include items such as headers, aftermarket heads, aftermarket intake manifolds, non original type ignition systems, (MSD box and etc), incorrect wheels, ie: rallys on a 65 Chevelle, (never available), non-stock fuel systems to include fuel injection, multiple carburetors and etc, incorrect engine for a particular model, ie: big block in a 64 Chevelle, (never offered). etc, etc.

Most of us should know whether our Chevelles would be considered Stock or Modified. It is a common sense issue that rarely presents a problem but experience has taught us that we have to have guidelines to address those rare cases where there is a question. The personnel assigned to the task of classifying cars will have the final say in any disputed matter involving this issue.

Q; Can I use my pop-up shelter at the show?

Pop-up shelters will be allowed in the show field area but only placed in the grass adjacent to the parking spaces for the show cars. Anyone utilizing a pop-up shelter assumes full responsibility to assure that they are secured and do not pose a hazard to others on the show field.

Q: I attended last year’s show, will we be in the same area again?

A: Yes, we will again be in the area in front of the Gift Shop, Heritage Center and Team Center. This seemed to work out well for everyone last year and allowed us to utilize the large area in the Team Center for indoor dining and the awards ceremony. This will also allow the usage of the Heritage Center as a backdrop for our Chevelle photographs which we have been very pleased.
